ALL SET TO WELCOME CE L’HOSPITALET

After picking up their first three points of the season with a 3-1 victory over Cerdanyola FC, the UE Cornellà men’s first team return to league action this Saturday at the Nou Municipal. The Greens will welcome CE L’Hospitalet in a clash between two teams expected to compete near the top of the table, with both sides heading into the fixture on four points.

The challenge will be to build on this positive momentum against a direct rival. Cornellà go into the third matchday with four points from a possible six and will be looking to make the Nou Municipal a stronghold once again, having already demonstrated in their last game their ability to control the match and create chances.

“It will be a special game, against a team that is competing for the same objectives as us,” explains Gianni Cassaro, UE Cornellà goalkeeper and captain. The Green player highlights the importance of the clash and the close competition between two teams who have both collected four points from their opening games.

CE L’Hospitalet will provide the opposition, with the visitors also making a positive start to the season and arriving for the derby with four points to their name. The Hospitalet side opened their campaign with a 2-2 draw against CF Vilanova and, on matchday two, secured their first win of the season with a 2-0 victory over Atlètic Lleida. The result moved them into the upper part of the table and they will arrive in Cornellà looking to extend their strong start to the campaign.

It will therefore be a meeting between two teams who are still unbeaten at the start of the competition and who share four points after the opening two matchdays. The closeness of the standings also underlines the importance of a game in which every detail could make the difference.

The Greens have completed another week of preparation with their sights firmly set on a highly demanding game. The aim will be to maintain the positive feelings shown in the opening matches, compete with intensity from the very first minute and once again produce a strong performance in front of our supporters.

“It’s an opportunity for us to make ourselves strong at home; the team is very motivated,” adds Cassaro, highlighting the squad’s desire to compete again at the Nou Municipal and continue picking up points in front of our supporters.

The clash with CE L’Hospitalet represents another opportunity to continue improving and build on the positive start to the season. This Saturday at 8:00 p.m., the Nou Municipal will once again turn green as it hosts a clash between two direct rivals.
