EVERYTHING IS READY FOR THE HISTORIC DEBUT OF THE WOMEN’S FIRST TEAM

The UE Cornellà women’s first team will experience a historic day this Sunday as they make their official debut in Segunda Catalana. The players will kick off their competitive campaign at 12:00 p.m. in Sant Joan Despí, where they will face Sant Joan Despí-San Pancracio in the first official match in the history of the club’s women’s section.

The team heads into this historic occasion after a very positive pre-season, in which they played five matches and recorded four wins and one defeat. The Greens have shown strong attacking form, scoring a total of 32 goals and conceding just six, figures that reflect the team’s good preparation ahead of the start of the competitive season.

Head coach Edu de Grandi is pleased with the work carried out over the past few weeks: “Pre-season has gone well. We have started to lay the tactical foundations and establish the DNA of our playing model.” The coach also highlights the team’s development, particularly given that this is a newly formed squad: “The team is much more settled now. They didn’t know each other before.”

After this period of preparation, the team approaches its first official match with great excitement. De Grandi values the work carried out during pre-season and hopes it will be reflected on the pitch: “We hope the work will bear fruit. We have done a good job.”

Standing in their way will be Sant Joan Despí-San Pancracio, the Greens’ first opponents in this new chapter. The home side will provide the first competitive test for Cornellà in a particularly significant match, not only because of the three points at stake, but also because it will mark the beginning of the UE Cornellà women’s first team’s competitive journey.

The debut comes after several weeks of growth, hard work and building a team that is approaching this historic challenge with great excitement. Now it is time to take all that work onto the pitch and begin writing the first chapter in the history of the UE Cornellà women’s team.
