GOING FOR A SECOND CONSECUTIVE WIN

UE Cornellà host Fundació Esportiva Grama this Saturday (6:30 p.m.) at the Nou Municipal de Cornellà in Matchday 9 of Group V of the Tercera Federación. The Green-and-Whites head into the fixture aiming to build on their victory away to Badalona CF (1–4) and secure three points in front of their home fans.

Defender Guillem Castell highlights the importance of the result in Badalona ahead of the upcoming fixture: “We needed that result to build our confidence.” The player also sees Saturday’s match as an opportunity to further establish the team’s identity: “On Saturday, we can reaffirm the style of play we want to convey. We have to give it the importance it deserves.”

Standing in their way will be FE Grama, who arrive after suffering a 0–1 home defeat to Atlètic Lleida. The Santa Coloma side have collected 11 points from their first eight matches and will be looking to bounce back at the Nou Municipal. The visitors have produced mixed results, combining impressive performances, such as their emphatic 0–5 away win against San Cristóbal, with recent setbacks. This makes Saturday’s fixture a good opportunity for the Green-and-Whites to strengthen their home record.

The most recent meetings between the two sides suggest a closely contested rivalry, although the balance of results favours Cornellà. Last season, the team won 0–2 in Santa Coloma and drew 1–1 at the Nou Municipal. With those results in mind, Cornellà will be looking to claim all three points against FE Grama and build on the positive momentum generated by their victory in Badalona.
