CORNELLÀ AIM TO MAINTAIN THEIR STRONG START IN MOLLERUSSA

After a goalless draw against CE L’Hospitalet, UE Cornellà’s men’s first team face another league fixture this Sunday with a trip to CFJ Mollerussa. The Greens, who have collected five points from their first three matches, will be looking to get back to winning ways and remain near the top of the table.

Cornellà head into the match after a demanding game against Hospitalet, in which they had chances to take the lead and kept a clean sheet. The team have started the season unbeaten and want to build on the positive feelings shown during the opening stages of the campaign. “The team are confident,” says midfielder Pau López.

They will face a CFJ Mollerussa side who have three points. The team from Lleida opened their campaign with a win away at Tona (0-1), but have lost their last two matches against Vilanova (0-1) and Atlètic Lleida (1-0). “We know Mollerussa are a tough opponent and that it’s a difficult ground to play at,” López explains, while also highlighting the importance of staying true to the team’s identity: “We’ll try to be ourselves; day by day, things have been going very well.”

The match will be played this Sunday, September 27, at 12:00 noon, at the Municipal de Mollerussa. We head into the trip with the aim of competing at our highest level and continuing to pick up points at the start of the season.
